SETUP HELP
Not sure how to start editing? Follow these simple startup steps!
DOWNLOADING THE FILES
You can download custom outfits from this website by simply clicking on one of the designs,
going to the Google Drive link, and downloading the required PNG file(s). If one of the links is broken or doesn't allow you to download the file, email DGFboutiquehelp@gmail.com
GETTING STARTED
To start editing your DGF characters into the custom outfits, you'll need a program to do so. Some free art programs include:
- Medibang Paint (PC / mobile)
- Krita (PC / Mobile / Linux)
- GIMP (PC)
Once you've got one of these installed (or once you've opened whichever program you usually use), open the downloaded outfit PNG into the program.
EDITING THE DGF HEADS AND BACKGROUNDS
To edit your DGF character onto a custom outfit, the easiest way to get the head isolated from the body is to use DGF Creator. (DGF Creator is now hosted on NeoCities! https://dgcreator.neocities.org/) For editing, you only need the head with the applicable hair and expression.
Input the correct numbers for your desired character design and expression into the creator, and put any letter into the body field. Submitting the query with the creator set to PNG will give you a head isolated from the body model. You can then simply open this file, and copy paste the downloaded outfit PNG files onto this head PNG file in your art/editing program.
It's relatively simple, but you may need to erase some parts of the hair that cover parts of the outfit in strange ways. Edit to your own discretion.
For the backgrounds, simply open the Creator again and input the number for your desired background into the Background Only field and submit. This will give you the background without the body and head models, so you can save it and put it into your edit as a new layer. Simply arrange its layer to be below the outfit and head layers, and you're done! You can of course edit filters and effects overtop, or colour correct as needed.
Simply export your edit as a one-layer PNG or JPEG and you've got a fresh new edit!
